Winepicking
and wine festivals in Paris
The Beaujolais Nouveau festival

The Beaujolais nouveau has arrived! As simple as magic, the formula
written by the boss on his slate still brings warmth to the heart.
The ritual is always the same. Each year, from the 31st October
the wines are sent to the bulk merchants who stock them until the
17th November.
The “beaujolades” begin the third Thursday of November,
as a law written in 1985 stipulates. As a result, certain informed
amateurs begin tasting just after midnight. But it’s always
seven hours later than the Japanese who have the privilege to be
the first to taste the honey.
Beaujolais is a little autumn wine picked early. This wine is
based on the Gamay grape, from the Lyon region, lightly fruity
and often set with a superb violet colour.
But apart from its colour or its banana flavours, when the winter
begins, Beaujolais is a good pretext, to find yourself in good
company.
